How to get your kids off the Xbox and back into nature

Kids these days are so addicted to the Xbox. It makes me wonder if they’ll ever get out of their room, let alone enjoy nature.  Numerous studies have shown that children who spend more time outdoors and less time in front of a screen are healthier, happier, and generally more productive. However, kids today are growing up with the idea that being outside is boring or scary.

  • Talk about what it means to be an outdoor kid: “Outside play develops physical fitness skills like balance.”  
  • Outdoor activities also promote social interaction.  -Provide some examples of fun things you can do outside: “Take walks together with your family through the park,” “explore new trails,” “go for bike rides on country roads,” etc.
