If you love pasta dishes, then you are going to love this Pasta with Clam Sauce recipe I made for dinner. I love a good pasta dish, especially with a delicious cream sauce. I use canned clams in this pasta recipe because honestly it was just easier that way.
Here’s how to Pasta with Clam Sauce:
Pasta with Clam Sauce
2 T olive oil
3 T butter, real
1/4 c onion, chopped
6/5 oz can chopped clams
1 c heavy whipping cream
1 28oz can petite diced tomatoes, well drained OR 4 roma tomatoes chopped finely
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp fresh basil if available
parsley, salt, and pepper to taste
Warm the olive oil and butter in a medium sized skillet over medium high heat until butter is melted. Add onion and saute until onions are translucent.
Add clams and continue to saute for three minutes.
Add heavy whipping cream, all at once, and stir frequently with a whisk. Allow the mixture to cook for three or four minutes (until it begins to thicken), and then turn the heat down to a simmer. Add spices and seasonings now.
Add tomatoes and cook an additional two or three minutes. Remove from heat and pour over the pasta of your choice. Top with Parmesan cheese. Serves four.
