Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love Never Fails
I should have one primary objective: to devote myself to understanding and accepting God’s love. It is only out of the overflow of His perfect love that I can be a husband of any significance to the woman He has given me.
I will chase after true, pure love because that love never fails.
Fail: to be unsuccessful
Fail: to neglect to do something
Fail: to break down; to cease to work
Love is one of the great, unbreakable gifts that God gives to His children. One of, and the greatest of all.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13
Love permeates God’s every action, as it should mine as well.
We love because he first loved us. – 1 John 4:19
Love is the single motivation behind the saving work of Jesus Christ, my savior and the redeemer of my soul.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
No matter the question, love is the answer.
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. – Proverbs 10:12
Love is the manifestation of Him in me; the light that leads others to know His power and His mercy.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34-35
Love cannot fail, is incapable of failure, because it has already won. Love cannot fail because God cannot fail.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22-23
Father, teach me more about how to love my wife. Open up my heart and lead me to a level of love that I never knew was possible. Help me to better understand Your love for me so that I, in turn, can love my wife out of that incredible abundance. Amen.
