I really love the way my Pecan Pie with Molasses and Raw Honey turned out. It has to be one of the best pecan pie recipes I’ve ever made. I’ve always been known for my pecan pies since my college days when I sold them to other students. I’m sure you’re also going to find this classic pecan pie recipe with a sweet twist one of your favorite pie recipes also. It’s the ONLY homemade pecan pie recipe you need!
Here on the farm we try our best to use all natural ingredients that we raise ourselves or we support local businesses and purchase directly from them. I really think duck eggs make the best custards, and since pecan pie is basically a pecan custard in a pie shell I’ve used duck eggs in this recipe. You can, of course, use chicken eggs instead, and I do when duck eggs aren’t abundant during the cooler seasons. You’ll want to use fresh halved pecans, if you can find them. This pecan pie recipe makes a wonderful treat or after dinner dessert to impress your friends. Here’s how to make Pecan Pie with Molasses and Raw Honey:
Pecan Pie with Molasses and Raw Honey
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup raw honey
- 1 Tablespoon molasses
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 unbaked pie dough shell
First, beat eggs slightly in a medium bowl.
Next, add the honey, molasses, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and chopped pecans. Beat for 2 minutes.
Pour into prepared unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 F for 40-50 minutes or until pie is set. You may need to cover edges of pie shell with foil if they begin to brown too much.
Doesn’t that just look absolutely divine?
